Technology-Based Questions
Question: Should I have my own server?
Answer: Using your own server is like having your own transport system. You must have really good reasons to own a bus, maintain it and be sure of what to do if something goes wrong. It’s much better to just hop on a bus owned by a transport company.

Do what you do best. Don’t get into areas where you need a whole bunch of expertise and are setting yourself up for chaos somewhere down the track.
Question: You mention that I should get a website that easily updateable. What are your recommendations?
Usually you should get a web designer to put a site together that you can update. One of my earliest sites was designed by a web designer. Today I still have an updateable site, but I do it all myself with Dreamweaver.
If you can learn Microsoft Word, you can learn Dreamweaver. You should be able to get yourself a free download from www.macromedia.com and then get yourself a book from the library. It’s called HOT-By Lynda Weinnman. Search online at www.lynda.com. Alternatively, you may have to look online for database driven websites. There should be many suppliers and it depends on your budget.
You could find a free content management site at www.mamboserver.com. Mambo is very good from what I’ve heard. So there are many options, depending on what you want to achieve. And based on your technical abilities. The best website is one you have full control over.
In summary:
1) Get a designer to build you a database driven site
2) Get yourself a site in Dreamweaver that you can update
3) Get Mambo and learn how to use it and you should be fine

My Personal Experience:
Learn Dreamweaver if you’re serious about Dreamweaver. You can’t go wrong with it.
